The Center for Truth in Love Condemns all Riots in Church Buildings
The Center for Truth in Love unequivocally condemns the actions of Don Lemon and the hostile mob that disrupted a worship service at Cities Church. What occurred was not journalism, peaceful protest, or moral accountability. It was intimidation, harassment, and a direct assault on the sanctity of the church.
Houses of worship are not physical battlegrounds. They are sacred spaces set apart for prayer, repentance, teaching, and the proclamation of truth. To storm a church, shout down clergy, and weaponize public outrage against a congregation is a violation of both civil norms and moral decency. It reflects a growing intolerance toward religious conviction, particularly Christianity, in the public square.
The actions taken inside Cities Church exemplify a dangerous cultural trend, the use of mob pressure to silence dissent, shame belief, and punish those who refuse to conform to prevailing ideological demands. This behavior does not advance justice. It erodes it. Truth does not require intimidation, and righteousness does not arrive through coercion.
The Center for Truth in Love exists to promote truth spoken with courage and love. We reject violence, harassment, and mob rule, whether it comes from the political left or right. We call on journalists, public figures, and activists alike to uphold ethical boundaries and to respect the fundamental freedoms of speech, religion, and peaceful assembly.
We stand with Cities Church and its congregation. We stand for the right of Christians and all people to worship without fear. We reaffirm our commitment to confronting cultural falsehoods not with rage or chaos, but with truth, reason, and love.
